Our Client is one of the top architectural, design,construction & real estate development company located in Lagos Nigeria. They are currently looking to hire an experienced and talented Procurement Manager to join their team.

Job Overview

In this strategic role, you will not only manage procurement but also redefine their approach to procurement to align with their overarching business objectives and goals. As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for designing and building their procurement system, ensuring it aligns with their strategic vision. You will work closely with their management team to implement forward-thinking procurement strategies, oversee the entire procurement process, and manage supplier relationships to drive our client's  success in creating innovative workspaces that foster business growth.


Key Responsibilities

• Design and build the procurement systems and processes for our client from the ground up, ensuring that it aligns with our       strategic business objectives and goals.
• Implement cutting-edge procurement strategies, utilizing advanced analytics for decision-making and integrating sustainable practices.
• Develop and execute a long-term strategy to facilitate improvements in procurement performance by implementing strategies to reduce direct project costs through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiation.
• Develop accurate project costing models, analyse cost estimates, and report on procurement performance
• Oversee the entire procurement process, including identifying and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, evaluate their products and services, and stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
• Lead rigorous performance reviews to ensure the execution of standards, controls, and performance metrics, continuously improving the procurement processes.
• Establish procurement standards, enforce compliance, and manage procurement budgets to prevent overruns.
• Collaborate with the finance team to oversee budgeting and forecasting for procurement activities, ensuring the maintenance of project margins through effective management of procurement budgets and close collaboration with project managers.
• Collaborate with the operations and design teams to coordinate supplier selection, credit terms, track supplier performance standards, and conduct ongoing evaluation.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for procurement, including monitoring compliance and providing training to staff.
• Act as a consultant to other departments to provide procurement advice and support.
• Implement best practices in procurement and supplier management to support business objectives and ensure consistent, high-quality value delivery.
• Management of financial resources.
• Stay proactive in leveraging new procurement technologies and industry best practices to drive efficiency and innovation.


Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in procurement management, preferably in the construction or design industry.
• Results-driven, morally upright, and motivated personality.
• Professional knowledge in construction industry methods and applications
• Professional knowledge in construction procurement.
• Knowledge of related governmental laws and legislation.
• Technological proficiency with relevant software and systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle Procurement Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics)
• Strategic cost management and supply chain optimization.
• Focused and able to manage a large portfolio of projects with strict adherence to budgets and deadlines in a fast-paced      environment.
• Knowledge of innovative sourcing and procurement techniques, with the ability to introduce and implement new systems.
• Excellent negotiation skills, Data analysis, with the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships and team work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with leadership capabilities.
• Ability to travel as needed.
