Agricorp is a Nigerian company that is dedicated to providing global exports of ginger sourced in Kaduna (Nigeria). In 2019, they invested in building a semi-mechanized processing facility in Kaduna, capable of handling up to 5,000MT of ginger every year. The facility employs over 100 local workers, 80% of whom are women, who are responsible for cleaning and sorting the ginger. In 2020, the company established its UK branch (Agricorp Inc.) to extend their product marketing reach to Europe. Nigeria is the second largest producer of ginger in the world, however, it only accounts for a meager 3.5% of the export market share due to limited capacity and quality control issues. With this investment, Agricorp is now able to export ginger and other processed spices to buyers in the Middle East, Europe, and America.
