often times knock knees which is medically referred to genu valgus is hereditary, in extreme cases it could he corrected at an early age with surgery but as an adult it's not advisable. One of the risk factors of genu valgus is osteoarthritis because of laxity/weak ness of the ligaments..
My advice is early enough to delay arthritis, ensure to keep weight in check and if possible start strengthening exercises with a professional gym instructor or a physiotherapist.
