Gabions are hexagonally netted wire boxes which when filled with stones may serve the purpose of a retaining wall for river training, erosion control, dam weir, among other uses. The flexibility of the structure presents a unique advantage over concrete rigid structures, especially where uneven settlement is a critical factor for consideration in the serviceability and functionality of the structures.

Reno-mattress is also made of netted wires and only differ from gabions in terms of dimension. Renos have heights below 0.5m while the minimum height of a gabion is 0.5m. Renos could serve as a foundation to gabions retaining walls and may also be used for the protection of slopes, floors and channels.

Our quality guaranteed gabions and renos are well galvanized with aluzinc and pvc coated to provide added protection to the wires for durability purposes.

These special UV-treated filter cloths allow water to pass through but prevent the migration of the soil particles thereby serving as an erosion control medium. It separates gabions and reno from the natural soil or backfills to avoid the migration of the soil particles choking the voids between the stones.

Geocells are cellular containment honeycomb-like systems made of strong but lightweight ultrasonically welded High-Density Polyethelene strips that are expanded at the site to be filled with non-cohesive granular materials to serve a number of functions including soil stabilization, slope protection, retaining walls, and erosion control. They are uniquely useful in the construction of roads in sandy desert areas.

The use of geogrid could significantly reduce the construction costs when deployed in the soil of poor bearing capacity where the costlier conventional approach of removing the topsoil and replace it with a thick layer of aggregate to improve its strength could have been utilized.
