They are looking for a country manager (minerals) for their Nigeria operations.

Job Description
  • Work closely with principal stakeholders to create cross-country buying program for primary and secondary minerals Lead/Zinc, Columbite, Tin and processed ingots and coils in Nigeria.
  • Manage a team of logistics/warehouse personnel
  • Create SOP for the procurement, transport and testing of said minerals
  • Follow and implement purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Control directly the purchasing at warehouse or selected mine sites across the country
  • Maintains the wider team well-informed of local and international market trends, best practices, contracting and licensing models.
  • Manage supplier relationships and interface with key artisans/local players on supplier issues.
  • Develops and maintains constructive supplier relationships by obeying high standards of business ethics and fair dealing.
  • Maintain proper reporting and record keeping
  • Assemble and analyze data for financial management and reporting as needed
  • Ability to travel to key producing regions including Jos, Abakaliki, etc.
Desired Candidate:
  • Experience in a strategic sourcing role with expertise in influencing business strategy and miner relations.
  • Relevant degree, preferably Masters level (Bachelor degree will be considered for the right applicant) or equivalent. Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 15 Years of relevant experience with minimum 7 Years in Nigeria.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, developed hands-on experience.
  • Aptitude to have a universal view and connect business need to purchasing strategy.
  • Team player with can do attitude
  • Focused individual with analytical approach and high degree of personal organization
  • High proficiency in MS Office
