Company description
Apostolic Bible College was established in March 1960.
The Divine Vision of the Church Council was to establish a theological institution for the training of Ministers of the Gospel who would in turn feed the flock of God to bring redemption and salvation to lost souls. At the inception, it was a Bible Training Center (BTC) offering courses in Scriptures, Church History, Church Tenets and other relevant Theological concepts like Election, Leadership and General Studies with late Pastor 1. B. 1. Ita as the Vice Principal.
In 1962, Pastor J. Kirkwood, of blessed memory arrived Nigeria to serve as substantive Principal of the College. The institution expanded in training of ministerial staff all over the then Eastern Region and the Cameroon. Unfortunately, during the Military interregnum,
In 1992, with the assistance of The Cornerstone University and Theological Seminary of Jerusalem, Israel and Hawaii, USA, the institution started offering courses leading to the award of Certificate and Diploma in Theology, Bachelor of Religious Education (BRE) and Bachelor of Arts in Theology (BA.Th). The College went into affiliation in 1997 with one of the outstanding National Universities and Seminaries, Faith Christian University and Theological Seminary, Sanqo-Otta, Ogun State, Nigeria.
In furtherance and acquisition of more proqrammes, the campus Rector then late Rev. (Dr.) E. S. E. Usip, strengthened with the approval of The Apostolic Church Council Akwa Ibom State Field, launched another frantic effort to affiliate the college with the enviable, reputable and prestigious University of Uyo in 1998. The affiliation with University of Uyo was, however, terminated due to National Universities Commission (NUC) directive to ban all satellite campuses
Former Heads of the institution among whom are Apostle (Dr) M. A. Udoneke, Apostle U. E. Umoh, Apostle (Dr) S. A. Isaiah, and Apostle (Dr) U. U. Afia and the current Rector, Apostle (Dr) U. I. Udoakpan have made various contributions to elevate the status of the College to that of a University.
